Recording laws vary by state. Some states require that all parties consent to a recording. You are responsible for following the law that applies to your calls.
In Settings you choose how calls are handled: record and transcribe, transcribe only with no audio kept, or off. An optional greeting line can tell callers the call may be recorded. The product makes the compliant path the easy one, but it does not give legal advice.
The conversation view honors your setting. When audio is not kept there is no player, only a transcript. When recording is off, neither is shown.
